5 lessons to improve your next email campaign ✨
From sender reputation to journey drop-offs, here’s how to make email work again

Hi there,
I don’t know about you, but I can’t quite believe it’s October already! Somehow, summer’s gone, the kids are back at school, and the shops are full of a weird mix of mince pies and Halloween costumes 👻.
To kick off October, why not grab a coffee, sit back for 30 minutes, and pick up some fresh email marketing tips?
In the latest episode of Funnel This, I’m joined by Eliane Coudoro, founder of CRM and email agency Seventy Eight, who shares how marketers can move beyond batch-and-blast and start building email strategies that actually perform.
Let’s dive in ⬇️
How Fintechs Use CRM and Email to Keep Users Hooked
🎙️ The latest episode of Funnel This is now live, and as ever, is packed with practical advice.
In this episode, I’m joined by Eliane Coudoro, founder of CRM and email agency Seventy Eight, who shares how fintech marketers can move beyond batch-and-blast and start building email strategies that actually perform.

Top moments you won’t want to miss …
1. “Email underperforms when there’s no strategy behind it.”
One-off sends and batch-and-blast campaigns are rarely effective. Eliane explains why the real power of email comes from sequences that support specific points in the customer journey, and how fintech marketers can spot where to begin. Watch this segment.
2. “Start with the biggest drop-off point.”
Rather than trying to fix everything at once, map your journey and identify where users fall off. That’s where to focus first, whether it’s onboarding, KYC, or product activation. Then build email sequences that guide users through that stage. Watch this segment.
3. “Your sender reputation is everything.”
It doesn’t matter how good your content is if your emails land in spam. Eliane breaks down what affects deliverability (like engagement, list quality and bounces) and how to protect your sender reputation from day one. Watch this segment.
4. “Sending to everyone is very damaging.”
Email still works, but only when it’s relevant. Eliane shares how to build a high-quality list, what tagging and segmentation look like in practice, and why smaller, targeted sends usually perform better than wide blasts. Watch this segment.
5. “Email is a channel where you own the audience.”
In a world of algorithms and pay-to-play reach, email is one of the few channels where you have full control. Eliane’s approach shows how to use that ownership wisely, building trust, supporting journeys, and increasing conversions along the way. Watch this segment.
Eliane’s insights are a reminder that email isn’t dead, but the way many teams are using it probably should be. With the right strategy, it can become one of the most valuable tools in your funnel.

Wondrous BTS
Our September in a nutshell:
It’s been one of those months that shows just how varied Wondrous life can be. From big tech briefs to rubbing shoulders with a few Brummie celebrities, we’ve had our hands in some brilliant work.
On the tech side, we delivered over 280 digital assets for a community platform, built two sales decks for a client tackling payments with AI, and produced a mix of quick-turn content alongside more ambitious motion pieces to help another client build authority.
Beyond tech, we designed Sport 4 Life UK’s annual Impact Report and supported their launch event, where Ben and Richard were proud to attend in person, and met former West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street and BBC Radio WM’s, PJ Ellis!
We also jumped behind the camera to make sure a client’s photography shoot captured every detail.
Outside of client work, we wrapped filming for series two of Funnel This, toasted Steph’s fifth anniversary at Wondrous, and even managed one last seaside trip before summer waved us off.
Roll on autumn 🍂.
That’s all from me this time.
Next month, I’ll be sharing Nikolay Sabev's take on how to build a successful fintech - you don’t want to miss it!
I’ll also be heading to the rearranged Fintech Fringe in London on 20th October, and will share my biggest marketing insight and inspiration takeaways.
See you next month,
Sally
