2025 marketing trends you can’t ignore 💡

Plus a new series reveal to support your content strategy

Hi there,

How is it the middle of January already? It feels like only last week I was wishing you all a Merry Christmas.

I hope you had a brilliant festive break and are settling smoothly back into a routine.

After a challenging year for many of us but featuring many high points, I’m reflecting on some incredible highlights and stepping into the new year feeling energised and inspired.

In no particular order, here were some of our best bits from last year:

  • I was a guest mentor at Rise (created by Barclays) for the first time in April helping startups with marketing questions.

  • We attended numerous events including some speaking gigs for Richard.

  • Steph (our Motion Graphics Lead) got a promotion and her first house!

  • Richard welcomed his first baby, George.

  • We donated over 100 selection boxes and 100 books to a local primary school at Christmas.

I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for us all.

2024 highlights

A Reflective Recap of the Tree of Light Celebration

It was a pleasure to close out the year supporting our long-term client, Mortons Funeral Directors, with their annual Tree of Light service.

I highlighted this incredible event in last month’s email, and it’s always a privilege to witness the profound impact it has on the community each year.

As Wondrous manages the entire marketing campaign, we’re hugely pleased with the results from 2024’s service. Some of the highlights include:

  • Total website sessions increased from 3,499 in 2023 to 6,032 in 2024, reflecting an overall growth of 72% year-on-year.

  • The total number of recipients across all email campaigns increased from 8,630 in 2023 to 11,823 in 2024, reflecting a 37% growth in the mailing list.

  • The total number of stars submitted increased by 35%, from 1,428 in 2023 to 1,923 in 2024.

We’re excited to build on these results when we manage the campaign again this year, further supporting the meaningful legacy of this event in honouring loved ones no longer with us during such a poignant time of year. We have now launched the annual feedback survey to help inform our strategy for 2025 too.

2025 Marketing Predictions

After being part of the final 2024 Fintech B2B Marketing Roundtable, here are my predictions on what’s coming our way in 2025:

1.Writing for SEO will shift as Google’s AI-powered overviews dominate search results. Surface-level content will no longer cut it.

2.Video marketing will continue its unstoppable growth, and if you haven’t jumped on this yet, 2025 is the year to start.

3.Events are evolving. With tighter budgets, I expect brands to focus on owned and fringe events—smaller, more intimate gatherings—to nurture key relationships and maximise ROI.

Kickstarting 2025: Key Marketing Priorities for Wondrous

As we kick off the new year with new goals, Q1 is also about re-establishing budgets and priorities. Here I’m sharing my top three marketing focuses for Wondrous in 2025:

First up is completing the productisation of our service offering. If you're in a service business, you know how important it is to clearly explain to prospects what they’re getting for their money.

I started this last year with the launch of Propel, our creative subscription plan, and I’ll be rolling this out to our other two key services by the end of Q1.

Second, more video content! Whether it’s quick updates, insights from the team, or explainer videos about graphic design and motion graphics, video is going to play a huge role for us in 2025.

Finally, I’m excited to step out from behind the camera and hit the road again. With clients spread across the globe, in-person connections are a priority for us this year.

What about you? What’s on your priority list for 2025? If you need support putting your marketing goals into reality this year, book a call here.

That’s all for this month, but keep your eyes on your inboxes in Feb for the launch of our first video mini-series.

We know how challenging it can be to feel confident creating your own short videos—whether it’s nailing the filming process, editing efficiently, or just knowing where to start.

My goal is to help you overcome those hurdles with practical tips and insights that make video creation less intimidating and more achievable.

So whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this series is designed to empower your video strategy for the year ahead.

Until then,

Sally and the Wondrous team.
